It was nice to see so many Board and member reps in-person at our Feb. Board meeting. A big thanks for Legions SouthPark for donating their meeting room for our meeting and to Summit Coffee (our new coffeehouse located at Piedmont Town Center) for providing some door prizes. In addition to reviewing current SPAN activities, we had an update from Commissioner Meier regarding her efforts to secure funding to improve Park Rd. Park. We also heard from Mr. Roy Michaux (Alexander Ricks PLLC) and Mr. Charlie Welch (MPHOA pres. regarding the role that deed restrictions could play once the new zoning code is adopted.
Thank you to all that came out for the Barclay Downs Sidewalk celebration. The project was funded through the 2017 CNIP bond and a $225,000 donation from Zom Living (the Hazel Apartment project). The .6 miles of new sidewalk is one of several projects intended to improve connectivity and walkability in the SouthPark area.
